Where does the time go? It must just be my stage in live, but time feels like it flying by! Even with our busy lives, there isn’t a day that goes by that I’m thankful for my husband. We’ve been together for 13 years and married for 7 of them, and we’ve truly grown up together. I always tell people, “When it’s right, it’s right and it’s easy.” I still feel the same about Mike.
I am by no means an expert on marriage and we have our ups and downs like any couple. But, I have learned two important things: 1) Whoever says they’re sorry first, wins (advice from our priest, and helps us not get caught up in silly arguments), and 2) You have to care so much about your spouse and always put them first. That second one isn’t easy, and we are both stubborn. But our love for each other always wins and I know that’s why our marriage works.
Our actual anniversary was a week and a half ago, but Mike’s crazy work schedule kept us apart (fire wife life). He came home this weekend, so while my sister watched Ben, we went out.
I always forget, but date nights are so special. Especially anniversary ones. We went to a fancy steakhouse and had a delicious dinner, and finally got to catch up. It was the perfect evening!
