Exploring Sugar Pine Point

I absolutely love Tahoe because of all the outdoor activities! I’ve heard Spring is the “secret season” to visit, and I have to agree! All of my favorite spots are pretty much deserted, and it makes the experience even more special when you feel like you’re the only one in the world. We weren’t crazy enough to get in the water, but there were plenty of hikes, beautiful nature to see, and landmarks to visit.
The second evening we were in Tahoe, we explored Sugar Pine Point, a California State Park. It has the most beautiful views of the mountains and lake, as you can see in my pictures, and it’s full of history. Since it’s the off-season the house wasn’t open for tours, but I have been on the tour in the past so I wasn’t too worried. If you come in the summer, it’s worth your time to hear how the property was used way back when.
I’ve been dressing pretty casual this entire trip, so I put together this outfit based on function and comfort. Lake Tahoe can change temperature pretty quickly, so I always dress in layers. We had a great time exploring the beach, and as you can see, it was deserted! I love some of the beautiful shots we got.
I was sad to head home, but I definitely left feeling recharged and ready to take on the new week. Plus, a snowstorm had started to fall just as we were leaving, so we got out just in time! 🙂
