Saturdays Aren’t for Laundry
This is what was going through my mind this morning. It’s been a long week with Mike gone and bending to the will of my 2-almost-3-year-old. I woke up and walked into the kitchen to see the dishes from the night before sitting there, and a laundry basket of towels that needed to be folded. I thought to myself, “But I don’t want to!” So I didn’t.
We were heading out on a Father’s Day walk/hike with my dad in a couple of hours, and I decided that I didn’t want to spend my Saturday morning doing housework. Saturdays aren’t for laundry. So I didn’t. I brewed coffee and cuddled with my little guy, and we slowly got ready to head out.
It was such a beautiful day to be outside, and I’m glad that spending time with my family was my focus instead of silly housework. I know I’m not the first or last mom to realize that a clean house isn’t the most important thing. But I’m kind of a control freak, so it’s hard for me to let it go. I’m sure I’d have a completely different perspective if I wasn’t on summer break (teacher, here!) Ask me again in the fall. 😉 I may be on summer break, but I am home full-time with my son while my husband’s gone, and that is a workweek that doesn’t stop!
Below are a few pictures from our beautiful morning out on Lake Natoma. I hope you are relaxing this Saturday!
