Since this is the base of your outfit, it needs to be a good one! Besides, you’ll have a little black dress for years and get tons of wear out of it, so make sure you like it!

There are so many decisions out there, so think about your own personal style. If you’re super casual go for a t-shirt dress. If you plan to wear it to work, go for a shirtdress. In my opinion, you need more than one little black dress to cover all the occasions 😉

Wear shoes with a pop of color or fun details.

Summertime is the best time for bright colors and taking risks. I love how a colorful shoe pops against the black dress and instantly adds interest. I went with sandals here because I’m all about comfort. These Target sandals were a steal and I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of them!

Carry a fun clutch.

I am all about clutches lately, probably because I don’t use them often so they’re still “special” to me. This  clutch from Old Navy is less than $20 (and I’m sure there’s a sale going ;)) and spices up the whole outfit. When I was putting this outfit together I went back and forth between this clutch and an animal print one. I think anything that adds interest is a yes!
